SSM Health is pleased to name Laura Jelle as the new president of St. Clare Hospital. In her new role as president, Jelle leads hospital operations at St. Clare and will partner with Damond Boatwright, regional president and CEO of hospital operations for SSM Health Care of Wisconsin, to grow and manage hospital services across the Baraboo region.
Jelle is no stranger to St. Clare Hospital. Since 1995, she has served in numerous roles within the hospital including quality and risk management, operations and organizational effectiveness. Most recently, as executive vice president/COO, Jelle was responsible for planning, organizing, directing and monitoring the day-to-day operations of the hospital. Some of her accomplishments include improving and maintaining high quality scores and helping to sustain exceptional employee and physician satisfaction.
“St. Clare Hospital has a solid reputation of providing exceptional care and an exceptional patient experience,” Jelle said. “I look forward to working with the St. Clare Hospital / Dean family. I want to continue to provide an outstanding customer experience and to deliver services that will help keep care close to home for the communities we serve.”
Jelle received her bachelor’s degree from Indiana State University before completing her graduate studies at the University of Wisconsin. She earned her Ph.D. in healthcare administration in 1991. Jelle is active in numerous community and professional organizations. She has lived in the Sauk County area for the past 30 years with her husband Dave, a manager with Foremost Farms in Baraboo who works closely with the agricultural community, and her children Travis and Tara.
Jelle replaces Sandy Anderson who left St. Clare earlier this month.
