Phase Two: Highway 40/I-64 Construction The western half of Highway 40/Interstate 64 reconstruction project re-opened to traffic on Dec.15, allowing motorists to use the new section of highway between I-270 and I-170. The eastern half of the project, from I-170 to Kingshighway, will close simultaneously and will remain closed through December 31, 2009.
St. Mary’s sits in the middle of the eastern stretch of the I-64 project. Traffic is expected to increase on Clayton Road, as it becomes a major east-west route. At certain times, key roadways that cross either over or under I-64 will be closed for construction or to be rebuilt. These include McCausland, Big Bend and Hanley Road. To help minimize the inconvenience and keep visitors to our Web site abreast of the latest developments, St. Mary’s is committed to providing access to up-to-date information on phase two of “The New I-64” project. Through this site, we will show you alternate routes you can take to access our hospital, and modes of transportation that are available. For specific information on road closures and up-to-the-minute routing information, visit http://www.thenewi64.org/. Below is a customized map that shows the alternate routes you can take to access St. Mary’s.
