St. Clare Meadows has an active rehabilitation services department. St. Clare Meadows residents may be involved in Physical Therapy to improve their ability to walk, stand, and transfer. Occupational Therapy can help the resident become more independent with dressing and bathing, or with cognitive concerns. The Speech Therapist will assist the resident with speaking or swallowing difficulties. Many of the residents are seen for short term rehabilitation, and then return to community living. A long term resident may be seen to improve skills for increased independence in daily activities. The Rehabilitation department can continue to provide outpatient services, as needed, after the resident has been discharged from the facility. The resident may continue therapy with the restorative services staff to maintain the gains from therapy. A directed exercise program is offered to all residents through the St. Clare Meadows activities department.
