St. Clare Hospice House serves end-of-life needs
In order to better serve the community’s end-of-life needs, the St. Clare Health Care Foundation partnered with the community to raise funds to build the St. Clare Hospice House on Jefferson Street in Baraboo. The facility is adjacent to St. Clare Meadows.
The St. Clare Hospice House is staffed by Home Health United – Hospice and can accommodate four residents in a quiet, peaceful and homelike setting.
Hospice is a special kind of care providing comprehensive physical, emotional and spiritual support to terminally ill patients and their families and caregivers during the final stages of life. While many hospice patients are able to remain in their own homes, this is not always possible due to caregiving demands or availability of caregivers.
Hospice services are generally covered by insurance. Room and board charges are the responsibility of the resident. However, financial assistance is available to those who qualify.
