Make a lasting contribution to local health care.
An endowment is a simple, yet meaningful way for a charitable organization to grow and better serve its customers. A donor makes a gift to an endowment. The gift is then invested by the charitable organization to generate annual income. The original contribution is preserved. That principal increases its value through investment. Only a percentage of the endowment’s value is used annually to help fulfill the organization’s mission.
At the St. Clare Health Care Foundation, you can establish a named endowed fund to ensure the future of quality, accessible health care services in our community. Such a fund is a lasting symbol of the special relationship between St. Clare and those being honored or memorialized.
You may name the fund in a variety of ways, including using your own name, a corporation, business or foundation’s name, or in honor or memory of another person. The income from the named endowed fund may be designated for the St. Clare Hospital & Health Services or St. Clare Meadows Care Center purpose of your choice, as approved by the St. Clare Health Care Foundation, Inc. Therefore, as your contribution is preserved and invested, a portion of the endowment’s value is then used for your designated purpose.
Named endowed funds are open-ended for the later addition of gifts. Thus, you may make additional contributions of any amount to your endowment at any time, including via annual, one-time, or even estate gifts. Other people can contribute to your named endowed fund. Such additional gifts increase the amount of annual support that your designated purpose will receive.
The minimum amount required to establish a named endowed fund is $25,000. An initial gift of $10,000 or more is required to initiate accounting for the fund, along with the stated intention by you to contribute a total of at least $25,000 (including the initial gift) within a five-year period.
